Recipes For Bricks

Here are a few recipes I want to share that I have worked on for some time. Snacks, recovery fuel, pre workout fueling...whatever works. These are bricks, not fucking straw to give your body the tools it needs to rebuild bigger, badder, faster, stronger, making you harder to catch, harder to kill. Enjoy!

Nut Butter Salty Balls (grain free, gluten free, refined sugar free, dairy free, vegetarian friendly)

Mix together:

1/2c your favorite nut butter

1/4c honey (or less if you don’t want it as sweet)

1 scoop egg white protein powder

1/2c shredded unsweetened coconut

1/2c almond flour

Options for adjuncts here: You can certainly add a tablespoon of MCT oil, or chia seeds or hemp hearts, cinnamon or nutmeg, whatever you want! I’ve dressed these things up 8 ways from Sunday in many varieties so have some fun with it.

Roll the well incorporated dough into 1” size balls and stack em up. Sprinkle with non-iodized sea salt for a gentle coating then chill in the fridge. Enjoy!

My Favorite Salad and Pomegranate Balsamic Vinaigrette (you’re gonna need a big bowl)

Salad:

1 handful of kale

1 handful of baby spinach

¼ hot house cucumber, quartered and sliced

6 baby carrots, sliced

1/4c raspberries

1/4c blueberries

1/4c chopped strawberries

Dried cranberries (try to find sugar free, unsulphured)

Palm full of pepitas (try to find raw or sprouted, but not roasted or salted)

Throw it all in a ginormous bowl and enjoy! Top with your favorite dressing or mine!

Pomegranate Balsamic Vinaigrette

In a clean salad dressing bottle funnel in:

1/3c 100% pomegranate juice

1/3c No sugar added (read your labels) balsamic vinegar

1/2c EVOO

2T dried basil

1T salt

1T pepper

2T Dijon mustard (optional)

Shake vigorously before each use!

Date bars or balls (shape is really irrelevant)

2c of pitted dates

1c nuts of choice

1T water or enough for it to stick together

Combine nuts and dates and pulse in a food processor till desired consistency is reached. Add water as needed to form a “dough ball” of sorts.

Here’s the fun part! ADD STUFF! All the things!! Seeds, spices, cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spice, dried cherries, dried mango, dehydrated bananas or strawberries, salt, cayenne, whatever you want! There are endless combinations you can make just with this simple base. No cooking or baking required. So easy!! Try it! Roll the “dough” into balls or roll flat between two pieces of plastic wrap to cut into bar shape.
